In the common multiplexed display, failure occurs due to
high frequency switching at high voltage and current. This
problem eliminates by getting separate (static) output of all
segments (No multiplexing).
More over, you can use relay driver card for driving AC loads.
That makes
No limit of the display size in practice. You can also make
NEON tube clock.
